ATAS Announces Project of the Year Award Winners

ATAS International, Inc. honored its 2018 project of the year winners at a recent awards banquet.  This annual competition recognizes projects in which ATAS products have been incorporated into the design of the building.

Six project categories were included in this year’s competition: commercial roofs, commercial walls, residential roofs, residential walls, accents, and interiors.  An independent panel of judges, comprised of ATAS advisory board members, reviewed photos of all the projects submitted throughout the year and chose first, second, and third place winners in each category.

Receiving the first-place honors for commercial roofs was the Living Word Community Church project in Red Lion, PA.  Medium Bronze Dutch Seam and Curved Field-Lok panels were used on this building, which were installed by Progressive Services, Inc., and purchased through Quality Roofing Supply, a Beacon Roofing Supply Company.  For the commercial walls category, the Zeiders American Dream Theater project in Virginia Beach, VA, designed by Cox, Kliewer & Company, PC, took first-place.  Silversmith, Champagne and Titanium Versa-Lok panels were installed by Royal Exteriors, and were purchased through Allied Building Products, a Beacon Roofing Supply Company.

Taking the first-place award in the residential roofs category was a private residence located in Wading River, NY.  Black Dutch Seam panels were used on the roof of this home. The panels were purchased through Riverhead Building Supply and were installed by J.A. Construction.  The residential walls category first-place winner was a multi-family building; 2330 Hoffman located in Bronx, NY.  Designed by Lin + Associates, Hemlock Green, Forest Green, and Patina Green CastleTop panels were installed on the walls by Reliable NYC Construction.  The panels were purchased through Allied Building Products, a Beacon Roofing Supply Company.

For the accents category, the Dunkin’ project in Phoenix, AZ, took first-place.  CastleTop panels in Chocolate Brown, Black, Sierra Tan, and Almond were purchased through ABC Supply Co., Inc.  The building was designed by a.d. ArizaDo, who created the unique combination of colors on this building.  The panels were installed by Verde Building Corporation.  For the interiors category, the Rock Outdoors project in Lexington, NC was recognized as the first-place winner.  Slate Grey Metafor panels were incorporated into the design created by STITCH Design Shop.  The panels were installed by J.D. Clark Company and purchased through ABC Supply Co., Inc.

Jim Bush, VP of Sales and Marketing for ATAS, stated, “Throughout the year, ATAS receives many entries into our annual project of the year competition.  We are pleased to honor the architects, contractors and distributors who were involved in the award-winning projects.  A 32-page booklet has been created to showcase the projects that won an award, or were nominated.  This “idea book” should be useful to architects, contractors, and building owners to help them envision possible metal panel applications and design aesthetics for their future projects.”
