ATAS Names the Winners of its Project of the Year Awards

ATAS International Inc. honored its 2016 Project of the Year winners at a recent awards banquet. This annual competition recognizes projects in which ATAS products have been incorporated into the design of the building.

An independent panel of judges reviewed photos of all the projects submitted throughout the year and chose several winners for each of the four categories: commercial roofs, commercial walls, residential roofs and residential walls.

Receiving first-place honors for commercial roofs was the Made in America flagship retail store in Elma, N.Y. Black Dutch Seam panels were used on this building, which was designed by Lydon Architectural Services. Panels were purchased and installed by Bayford Construction.

In the commercial walls category, the Cedar Point Valravn Roller Coaster project in Sandusky, Ohio, took first place. CastleTop panels in Charcoal Grey, Slate Grey and Champagne were installed, as well as Belvedere Wave Panel and Belvedere 7.2-inch Rib in Charcoal Grey, and Opaline in Champagne. The panels were installed by Lews Construction and purchased through Gordon Lumber. The building was designed by TRA.

Taking the first-place award in the residential roofs category was a private residence located in Fletcher, N.C. Classic Bronze PC System was used on the roof of this home, designed by Platt Architecture. The panels were purchased through ABC Supply and were installed by Joe Chapman Roofing.

The residential walls category first place winner was a private residence located in Pikeville, Ky. Designed by Hubbard Architecture, Rigid Wall panels in Silversmith were installed on the walls by JBK. The panels were purchased through Roofing Supply Group.

Jim Bush, vice president of sales and marketing for ATAS, stated, “We had a record number of entries submitted for the 2016 project of the year competition. The design creativity and aesthetics achieved through an architect’s vision, as well as the quality installation by the contractors, resulted in many showcase structures. Each year we look forward to honoring the architects, contractors and distributors who were involved in the award-winning projects.”

  1. Congratulations to the winners! Awards like these excite and encourage every body in the construction industry, specially those who eye excellence in whatever they do. Made in America store really came up well and has become almost a landmark in the area, so big achievement!
