ALDOCOAT Acrylic Roof Coating 374 was employed as a base coat, and ALDOCOAT 400 Premium White was applied as a topcoat. ALDOSEAL 750, an acrylic sealant, was used to seal exposed fasteners, seams, all roof penetrations and the perimeter of skylights.
The plant’s 85,000-square-foot metal roof system and its 95 skylights had aged over time, experienced numerous water leaks, and were in need of a complete restoration or replacement.
The building’s management team with the assistance of Baker Roofing determined the building’s metal roof panels could be restored and the skylights replaced. A coating solution would extend the life of the roof by at least 10 years and provide substantial cost savings compared to roof replacement. The specified reflective coating also offers ongoing energy-cost savings. The project began in July 2012 and was completed during a four-week period.
