McNichols to Host Open House at New Chicago Metals Service Center

McNICHOLS Chicago Metals Service Center

The McNichols Co. will offer tours of its Chicago Metals Service Center—a 112,000-square-foot warehouse and office facility—during a two-day open house event held April 26-27.

The Metals Service Center began operating at 2200 Arthur Avenue in Elk Grove Village in July, 2016 after relocating from Des Plaines, where it had operated for 10 years. About 75 associates serve customers from the new, expanded location that serves the Chicago region and Midwest marketplace.

McNichols invites customers and the community to the facility to experience the company’s “Hole Service” capabilities and to join the McNichols team as it celebrates continued success.

On both April 26 and 27, the company will host customers during four set times, allowing customers to choose from a breakfast and tour from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. or a lunch and tour from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on either day. They are also welcome to visit at other times throughout the two-day event at their convenience.

On April 26, beginning at 4 p.m., the company will welcome company associates and their families to a fun-filled evening including BBQ and entertainment. A special ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled April 26 at 5:30 p.m., with city officials and other community members in attendance. Members of the media are invited. RSVPs requested at [email protected].

The event also commemorates 65 years in business for the company, which provides perforated and expanded metals, wire mesh and designer metals, as well as a complete line of metal and fiberglass grating and flooring products.

“Forty-two years ago, my grandfather and father put down stakes in Elk Grove Village,” says McNichols President Scott McNichols. “We have seen tremendous growth over that period of time and are extremely blessed to be back in the Village serving customers.”

McNichols said the company is grateful to the community for the welcome “home” after a successful 10-year run in Des Plaines. “This new facility will help us serve customers like never before,” he says. “It is difficult to describe how encouraged we are about the future. I cannot think of a better city to operate from than this one.”

The company has had a presence in the Chicago region since 1975, when it opened its third Metals Service Center at the corner of Pratt and Lively Boulevards in Elk Grove Village. The company expanded the office and warehouse multiple times before relocating to a 78,000-square-foot space in Des Plaines in 2006 prior to returning to Elk Grove Village in 2016.

Chicago is an important part of the company’s “Hole Network” of 18 Metals Service Centers across the country, and a market in which the company has experienced tremendous growth. With its ability to expand up to 142,000 square feet, the new site will support the company’s growth for years to come. McNICHOLS Chicago Metals Service Center
