Boral Roofing LLC introduces Boral Tile Mortar to the Florida and East Coast markets. With the color pre-mixed into the mortar, there is no guessing the right oxide quantity to color match the tiles. Boral Tile Mortar is a one-step fiber-reinforced mortar for tile-roof weather blocking — just add water and mix.

According to the manufacturer, Boral Tile Mortar contains an Integrated Water Repellent (IWR) additive to help prevent efflorescence. The water-resistant solution provides ease of installation, excellent bonding and is offered in numerous colors. It is ideal for use with clay and concrete roof tile systems on both new and re-roof applications. It meets ASTM C-270 requirements.

The product has been offered in the Texas and Midwest markets for several years and will now benefit from the new-and-improved engineered IWR additive product.

Boral Tile Mortar is a Type S mortar that is engineered to provide resistance to shrinking and cracking. It is not suitable for attaching roof tiles. It is available in 80-pound (36.3-kilogram) bags that offer 10-30 linear feet of coverage that varies depending on tile profile and method of installation. Boral Tile Mortar is sold by the bag, pallet (42 bags) or 14-pallet mixed truck load.

“Boral Tile Mortar rounds out our suite of roof component offerings with a durable roof-tile weather-blocking solution providing essential water-repelling abilities,” said Brian Sweet, components product manager for Boral Roofing. “This all-season mortar is designed specifically to address common climate concerns in Florida and Texas.”

“The mortar is offered in numerous colors to seamlessly match almost any roof tile,” added Sweet. “It is uniformly blended to ensure consistency of color at all hips, ridges, gables, and valleys, enhancing the aesthetics of any tile roof.”

“We provide Component Color Match Guides to assist our customers in finding the best color choices of mortar and other components for their project,” said Sweet.
