NRCA Urges Members to Advocate for Home Improvement and Commercial Infrastructure Tax Credit

As Congress considers further legislative responses to address the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) urges all members to reach out to their members of Congress to advocate for the inclusion of a home and commercial buildings improvement tax credit.

The Home Improvement and Commercial Infrastructure Tax Credit would provide a 30 percent “home improvement tax credit” for improvements to residences for qualifying taxpayers. In addition, the proposal provides a 30 percent tax credit for investment in commercial infrastructure, such as improvements to nonresidential roofs and other building components.

The tax credit is designed to assist with economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic by helping unemployed workers return to work and stimulating demand for construction activity.
