Coated Metals Group Expands Operation Facility

Coated Metals Group has expanded its Indianapolis location with an addition to its operation facility. The expansion has increased the building’s square footage by over 50 percent, allowing CMG to ramp up their on-hand inventory and production.

Company President, Gary Woodward states, “Expansion in our Indianapolis plant was overdue. Our growth in this region had been outpacing our capacity for some time. The capacity we have added will allow us to maintain more on-hand inventories and meet customer needs with enhanced efficiency.”

Doug Riley, Indianapolis’ sales representative, believes this expansion demonstrates CMG’s focus on improving the customer experience. “I believe our addition demonstrates to both our current and prospective customers our level of commitment to providing them with quality customer service and materials.”

CMG Opens Distribution Center, Expands Operations

Coated Metals Group expands its operations by opening a new distribution center in Phoenix.  Leading the staff at the facility are General Manager Jeff Larson and Account Manager Rusty Vandall.

The Arizona distribution center has been an anticipated addition to CMG. Company president Gary Woodward states, “We’re thrilled to finally be opening our doors in the Phoenix-metro area. Our business in this region has expanded over recent years and we’ve looked forward to opening a branch facility there for some time. We are very excited to expand our reach and offer improved service and lead times with a full complement of inventory available on-hand and ready for delivery.”

General Manager Jeff Larson was previously employed with CMG for eight years before moving out of state for other opportunities.  The CMG team welcomes Jeff’s return. “Jeff was a valuable member of the CMG team for many years. So we were disappointed to lose him when he left to pursue other opportunities.  We are pleased to welcome Jeff back and happy that he’ll be spearheading the new Phoenix branch. Jeff’s experience, attention to detail, and focus on customer satisfaction will ensure that customers in the region will benefit from a high level of service,” says Gary Woodward.

Rusty Vandall is a newcomer to CMG and will be supporting the new distribution center in the role of Account Manager.  Rusty is a resident of the Phoenix area and comes to CMG with 25 years of customer service experience.  When asked why he chose to join the CMG team, Rusty states, “I am excited to join CMG because of their reputation and attitude to always taking care of their customer.”

CMG”s new facility will stock a full assortment of inventory in coil and sheets, with the ability to offer slit coils that can be spun down into custom lengths.  Route truck delivery will be available to the Phoenix metro area.

Coated Metals Group Launches New Website

Madison, Wis.,-based Coated Metals Group has launched a new website, featuring tools and resources to aid both the contractor and the end consumer in the process of selecting metal building products. The new website can be found at www.CMGMetals.com.

By utilizing feedback from staff members across all company departments, along with customer input and requests, CMG focused on building a website to reach three target markets: architects and specifiers, fabricators and installers, and end-use consumers.

For contractors, CMG’s website focused on providing product information for CMG’s expanding product lines. Products, such as standing-seam panel systems, include information about colors and availability, along with brochures contractors can share with their customers, as well as resources helpful in the process of project submittal preparation. Additionally, tools, such as the Coil Calculator, allow a contractor with an excess coil to determine how many square feet of metal are left on the roll. Online request forms for Warranty Requests and Applications for Credit will allow users to submit and receive requested warranties and information faster and more efficiently than previously available.

CMG has provided a website where contractors can not only access vital product information, but similarly direct their customers to see finished projects utilizing CMG products. The Project Gallery will be updated regularly to showcase new projects and the excellent completed work of CMG customers. CMG’s website also features a tool called “Paint the Panel”, which allows customers to choose between different styles of buildings and view the selected roofing in any of CMG’s standard colors.

Gary Woodward, president at Coated Metals Group calls the new website a strong reflection of the growing brand. “CMG has grown and evolved dramatically over recent years, expanding its existing lines, adding new products and entering new markets. With such dynamic change, we found that we had outpaced our website and it was no longer fully reflective of who we are and what we do. In an effort to update our site, we made every effort to listen and respond to what our customers’ needs are and are very excited and proud to launch our new website. Not only does the new site provide an updated, fresh look but it is very user-friendly, easy to navigate and is filled with tools, resources and information critical to our customers’ success. We believe the end result speaks to CMG’s key strength—customer support and responsiveness.”

Coated Metals Group has launched its textured steel coil, TEXTUR3D. The coil’s textured finish has been formulated and designed to provide dimensional depth in the surface, thereby diffusing and redirecting light to provide an appealing look while reducing the appearance of oil canning. TEXTUR3D has been developed to provide a more durable surface and enhanced resistance to scratching and cuffing common with low-gloss or matte finishes while maintaining the same film integrity, weathering performance and resistance to chalking and fading that ULTRA-CLAD is known for. CMG stocks TEXTUR3D in 26-gauge coil and sheets in 13 colors. It is available for order in all CMG standard colors.
TEXTUR3D comes with a 35-year finish warranty.
