Autobrake Designed to Improve Part Quality and Reduce Labor Costs

Roper Whitney introduces the Autobrake 1212, which provides accuracy and repeatability when forming 12-gauge mill steel and 14-gauge stainless steel. It features the rotating Kombi beam, which expands the machine’s folding capabilities to produce straight to box and pan bending in just 11 seconds. The box tooling is 6.3-inches in height, precision ground and laser hardened to 60. Pieces are also laser etched with the length of the tool for easy box set up.

Optional left-hand or right-hand back gauge extension provides superior material positioning. Maximum 12-foot back gauge travels in less than three seconds and is provided by the six-stage design combining high speed with compact space requirements.

The Autobrake 1212 offers the following benefits:

  • Reduced labor costs
  • Improved part accuracy
  • Minimized tool changes

The Synergy control system offers many features to the operator such as multiple methods of programming – from simple line-by-line to draw-to-auto program. It’s network capabilities allow for multiple integrations, such as; Konnect, Konstruct, Konstruct Mobile, and overall shop management through linking multiple machines.

The Autobrake design is a plate and weldment steel construction, delivering performance and features in a simplified, rigid design. End housings are a plate-type construction bringing drive components close together for improved stiffness and performance. The design is constructed so that the actuating mechanisms are secured in rigid mounds of the housings allowing for easy maintenance.

Portable RhinoBond Hand Welder Designed for Use in Tight Spaces

OMG Roofing Products introduces the RhinoBond Hand Welder. Based on patented Sinch Technology, the portable RhinoBond Hand Welder is designed to help roofers weld RhinoBond Plates in tight spaces such as under raised rooftop equipment and on vertical surfaces. The ergonomically designed tool features a vibrating handle and an indicator light that lets roofers know when the tool is activated and when the weld cycle is complete. The base is recessed and features centering indicator lines to help users properly align the tool over installed RhinoBond Plates for optimum bonding and improved productivity.

The new tool weights just six pounds (2.7 kg), and operates on 110V and 220V power sources for global use. Each tool comes with three, eight-inch tall magnets, and a durable carrying case that protects the induction tool when not in use. Using a 12-gauge RhinoBond Power Cord (sold separately), the independent Hand Welder can be operated up to 100-feet (30 m) from the power source. A quick connect power cord pig-tail enables international users to quickly switch to the local plug configuration for global use (international pig-tails sold separately).

“Many roofers understand the tremendous productivity and performance benefits that RhinoBond offers,” said Web Shaffer, vice president of marketing for OMG. “In fact, some roofers have seen productivity rates increase by 30%. To enhance the systems’ overall productivity, we wanted to offer a solution that can be used everywhere on the roof, even in tight spaces. This new product makes that possible.”

The RhinoBond System is designed for use with TPO and PVC roofing membranes and approved by most roofing system manufacturers. The System uses advanced induction welding technology to bond roofing membranes directly to specially coated plates used to secure the insulation to the deck. The result is a roofing system with improved wind performance that requires fewer fasteners, plates, and seams, and zero penetrations of the new membrane. Since it was introduced in 1998, nearly 2.0 billion square feet (185 million square meters) of membrane has been installed with the RhinoBond System around the world.

Schmitt Industries Inc. has made available its AR2000 line with special capabilities to measure hot targets up to 2,400 F within a range of up to 550 yards. It can be used outdoors in bright lighting conditions with high constant or stray light levels. The tool offers an absolute measurement accuracy of 1 millimeter and a measurement frequency of up to 100 Hertz. For convenient data display and parameterization, AR2000 sensors are equipped with an OLED display and touch keys. Options include internal heater and sunscreen for outdoor uses. The sensor also has its own built-in display that can be used to program the laser and take measurements without the use of an external display or PC.
