Apex Roofing & Restoration Donates $75,000 to the Jimmie Hale Mission

Birmingham-headquartered roofing contractor, Apex Roofing & Restoration, has announced a charitable donation of $75,000 to the Jimmie Hale Mission. This contribution underscores Apex’s commitment to supporting its community and will provide vital resources to help the Jimmie Hale Mission continue its work offering shelter, food, and recovery services to individuals and families in need across Birmingham.

 The Jimmie Hale Mission, a cornerstone nonprofit in the Birmingham area, operates three facilities: two serving men, one in downtown Birmingham and another in Blount County, as well as a center for women and children in downtown Birmingham. The organization plays a critical role in addressing homelessness and poverty by providing recovery programs, education, and other resources designed to empower individuals toward self-sufficiency. JHM also operates an emergency warming station for the City of Birmingham during freezing overnight temperatures.

The holiday season is a vital time for the Jimmie Hale Mission, as colder weather and increased need create additional challenges for those it serves. Apex’s donation arrives at a critical time and will enable the Mission to address pressing seasonal needs, including supplies for its emergency warming station.

 “While Apex has been a loyal supporter of the Jimmie Hale Mission for years, the size and timing amplify the impact of this donation,” said Perryn Carroll, Executive Director of the Jimmie Hale Mission. “With the holidays and cold weather on the way, we can apply this gift to seasonal needs like supplies for our emergency warming station. Whenever the temperature falls below 32°F, the Jimmie Hale Mission serves as the City of Birmingham’s Warming Station, providing safe shelter, hot meals, and winter clothing to unsheltered individuals and families. On average, we offer warming station services to 676 unique individuals over 34 nights each winter.”

 In addition to seasonal assistance, the funds may also be used to support the Mission’s clinically-structured active recovery program. This 15-week initiative, provided free of charge to participants, empowers individuals to address the root causes of their homelessness. Through this program, clients can work toward self-sufficiency and regain control over their lives.

 The impact of Apex’s support extends far beyond the immediate season. “The men, women, and children we serve, and their families, will carry the legacy of this donation in their lives and their communities for years to come,” Carroll added.
