ASTM International Honors Thomas Taylor with William C. Cullen Award

ASTM International’s roofing and waterproofing committee (D08) gave the William C. Cullen award to Thomas J. Taylor for the year 2020.

Taylor was recognized for his distinguished contributions, personal commitment, dedication and leadership in the industry, particularly through his numerous publications and presentations to roofing industry audiences.

A graduate of the University of Salford, UK, where he earned a Ph.D. in chemistry in 1983, Taylor has over 40 years of experience in the roofing industry. He currently works as a building and roofing science advisor at GAF in Parsippany, NJ, a position he’s held since 2018. He’s been part of GAF since 2007, and previously held positions at Guardian Industries, Johns Manville, and Allied Signal.

Taylor holds over 35 U.S. patents accumulated over his career, and his other professional memberships include the IIBEC and the American Chemical Society.
