Atlas Roofing Corporation Continues Construction of New Shingle Laminating Line

Atlas Roofing Corporation’s production on a new state-of-the-art shingle laminating line at its Ardmore, Oklahoma facility is on track for completion in the fourth quarter of 2021.

“We are in the first phase of construction on the project, where we are constructing the laminator for our HP42 shingles and working on all of the electrical components for it,” said Rick Stevenson, manager of Atlas Roofing’s Ardmore plant. “The second phase will be completing the test runs, which we are on schedule to begin in late October. Materials should hit the market in the first quarter of next year.”

The Ardmore plant has been operating since 1960, and asphalt shingle production technology has come a long way since then. The new laminating line now allows for a significant increase in Atlas’ overall laminate shingle capacity and creates efficiencies throughout the facility to help increase overall throughput.

“The new line is a game changer for Atlas,” said Stanley Bastek, vice president of sales and marketing for Atlas’ Shingles and Underlayments Division. “We are especially excited to be able to expand our Pinnacle Pristine line of Scotchgard™ Protector products. We are also anxious to

explore opportunities for new product innovations at the Ardmore plant.”

The increased capacity in the Ardmore facility is a significant contribution to the manufacturer’s

family of products, including its designer shingles featuring Scotchgard Protector. The new capacity in laminate shingles will allow Atlas to better serve customers across the country. Atlas will provide additional updates as the project progresses.
