The Helping Hand of Greater Little Rock in Little Rock, Arkansas recently received a new roof from local contractors, RoofConnect and Platinum Roofing, along with GAF, North America’s largest roofing manufacturer.
Due to severe weather damage and natural aging, the roof of Helping Hand needed urgent repair. Nails fastened across the roof’s flat surface compromised the structural integrity, while leaks through the ceiling tiles risked the safety of items stored in the building and the facility’s overall functionality. With the help of RoofConnect, Platinum Roofing and GAF, The Helping Hand of Greater Little Rock will receive a roof replacement allowing them to continue to operate safely and smoothly. The project will be completed in two phases, with the first half of the roof already finished and the second half scheduled for completion this year.
The Helping Hand of Greater Little Rock is a vital community resource, acting as a food pantry and thrift store, while also providing medical supplies and financial assistance to thousands of families in Central Arkansas. Operated primarily by dedicated volunteers, the non-profit offers essential support, encouraging self-sufficiency for both individuals and families within the region.
“We are extremely grateful to RoofConnect, Platinum Roofing and GAF for their donation, which will allow us to continue providing essential services to the greater Little Rock area,” shared Gayle Priddy, Executive Director of Helping Hand. “Their support is a true testament to the power of community collaboration and generosity.”
RoofConnect and Platinum Roofing are installing the new roof with materials donated by GAF. This collaboration is part of GAF’s social impact initiative, GAF Community Matters, which is focused on making a positive impact in the community by leveraging roofing expertise, resources and products to help build resilient communities.
“It has always been important to us to give back to the community. When we heard about the need for a new roof at The Helping Hand, we knew we had to step in and help,” said Eric Harrison, Vice President of Technical Services at RoofConnect. “Donating a new roof for this project, alongside GAF and Platinum Roofing, was a way for us to show our commitment and gratitude to the people who have supported us over the years. We hope this new roof will serve the community for many years to come and look forward to exploring more opportunities with Helping Hand of Greater Little Rock in the future”
