GAF, along with the city of Chester, South Carolina, and Chester Citizens Alliance, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the reopening of Wylie Park — the first ADA compliant park in Chester County.

The Wylie Park revitalization includes new ADA compliant playground equipment, a new sidewalk that encircles the playground to improve accessibility, new fall-resistant eco-turf ground cover, and a newly-paved parking lot. Additionally, the drainage needs for the area have been addressed to further improve access to the area.

The transformation of the park is being accomplished through a partnership of the City of Chester, GAF, and the Chester Citizens Alliance, a group of concerned citizens with a goal to improve the quality of life in Chester.

GAF, which has a plant located in Chester, has donated funds and support to the revitalization project as part of its social impact initiative, GAF Community Matters, which is focused on making a positive difference as neighbors and partners in the community by leveraging roofing expertise, resources, and products to help power the potential of communities.
