Gutter Guards Cost Less and Can Fit Any Roof

U.S. manufacturer Gutterglove Inc. announced that it has received a broad patent for its proprietary V-Bend Technology (VBT) that allows its stainless steel micro mesh gutter guards to be suspended over a gutter without the need of a metal support. This allows the gutter guards to be manufactured for significantly less cost than their competitors and opens up the door for global distribution.

Stainless steel micro mesh gutter guards are not mainstream in gutter and roofing supply stores because of their high cost to manufacture, prohibiting store buyers from wanting to carry them. However, CEO and inventor of Gutterglove’s gutter covers, Robert Lenney has found a way to bring the price down.

Similar to corrugations in metal roofing materials to give them strength to span roof rafters, corrugations are put in the stainless steel mesh so they can span gutters without the need of high-cost metal supports.

Already, Lenney’s gutter covers are available at several ABC Supply roofing supply stores in the U.S. He hopes to be distributed throughout their entire chain by the end of summer.

Typical pro-install stainless steel micro mesh gutter guards can cost the contractor as much as $5 per foot. Contractors can now buy Lenney’s VBT gutter guards right around $2 per foot from building stores, and that’s with the store reaping a 30 percent gross profit margin.

Gutterglove has been manufacturing stainless steel micro mesh gutter guards since 2003 and has several brands, including the Gutterglove Pro. Gutterglove is also doing its part in stimulating the American economy by transitioning manufacturing from China to the US over the last few years.

The back of LeafBlaster can be easily bent up or down to fit any gutter and roof, without compromising the rigidity of the cover. LeafBlaster will fit on any roof, including asphalt shingle, standing-lock metal seam, stone-coated steel or flat membrane roofs.

Lenney filed a patent application for a special clip that allows a self-regulating heat cable to attach to the top of the mesh. This converts the cover into a heated gutter guard and can now melt icicles, ice dams and snow loads.
