Larimer/Shannon Group Announced Founder Retirement

Larimer/Shannon Group, the Johns Manville and other commercial exterior building products representative for Georgia and Tennessee, announced that one of its founder members Tim Shannon retired at the end of 2024. Larimer/Shannon Group was founded by John Larimer and Tim Shannon in May 2003 and their clients include commercial roofing contractors, building material distributors, architects, consultants and commercial property managers and owners in the public and provide sectors. 

Tim Shannon’s 20 years of building materials sales experience started with Owens Corning in Tampa, Florida as a territory sales representative and his skills in sales and customer relations exceled him to an area sales manager in Atlanta, Georgia. From there, his career took him to Owens Corning’s corporate headquarters in Toledo, Ohio where he held various leadership positions in marketing and channel management in the insulation, roofing and end-user markets. As the director of sales, he relocated to the Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina area to manage an acquisition for Owens Corning and concluded his career as the director of global customer eBusiness.

In 2003, Tim and his business partner of 22 years, John Larimer, while on a ski trip to Vail, Colorado created the strategic plan to start a commercial building materials rep firm located in Atlanta, Georgia. Their first main product line was Firestone Building Products. Their company experienced tremendous sales growth as did the companies they represented. Their team grew from four employees to its current 12 employees. In 2019, they proudly and gratefully transitioned their representation from Firestone Building Products to Johns Manville. Johns Manville is a Berkshire Hathaway company and a highly respected and outstanding leader in the building materials market and their people, products and customer service are considered the industry’s best in class.

Tim plans to do business consulting under Continuum Consultancy, LLC and will continue to serve on the Larimer/Shannon Group board. In addition, he is already active on the boards of several charitable organizations. He and his wife Wendy will be located in Tampa, Florida and Edwards, Colorado. Tim is an active snow skier, fly fisherman, outdoorsman, cyclist and aspiring golfer.
