NRCA Launches Mental Health Webpage

Did you know an estimated 1 in 5 adults live with a mental illness yet less than half seek treatment? The construction industry has the second-highest suicide rate of all major industries in the United States, according to a 2020 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report. And as the suicide rate in the country continues to rise, it is crucial the industry focuses on the mental health of its workforce.

The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) is committed to improving mental health awareness in the industry and has launched a Mental Health webpage that offers a range of resources to enhance your company’s efforts to raise awareness, provide help, and give support to mental health and suicide prevention in the roofing industry.

Resources include free hard hat stickers, a suicide prevention fact sheet, a toolbox talk, a break room poster, education programs and links to additional resources that can help you support the mental health and well-being of your employees.
