Owens Corning Invests in Production Capabilities to Expand Capacity

Investments in production capabilities are allowing Owens Corning to meet growing demand for roofing products in 2022 and beyond. Looking 2022-2023 growth, the Toledo-based manufacturer is making a multi-million-dollar investment that will boost capacity across its shingle network. The expanded capacity brings the equivalent of a full shingle line to Owens Corning’s shingle production capability. Additional investments include increases in inventory levels and warehousing to accommodate market demand surges during peak seasons.

“Given the industry’s fiberglass mat constraints, we are also excited to share that we have announced an expansion to our fiberglass mat facility in Arkansas that will significantly expand our mat capacity starting in 2023,” said Owens Corning President Roofing, Gunner Smith, in a letter to industry partners. The additional investments will also boost production capacity for roofing accessory products and support the continued growth of Owens Corning’s Total Protection Roofing System. With an eye toward making it even easier for contractors to do business with their customers and partners, Owens Corning is investing in digital and product technology. The latest investments complement annual automation and process improvements to optimize and increase throughput at manufacturing sites across the United States.
