Redesigned Strut Support Provides Improved Performance

GREEN LINK Engineering offers its redesigned KnuckleHead Strut Support, which provides improved performance and more visually appealing aesthetics.

The new design features a sleeker look with ribs flanking each side of the head. It is more characteristic of the KnuckleHead style reflecting intricate engineering and mold design.

“Aesthetics matter, just like performance,” said Lisa Mulder, GREEN LINK Technical Representative. “Our support heads have high performance features but also interesting designs that enhance the look of the finished job. Our new strut head has that same appeal.”

The new strut head features a 1 1/8 -inch deep cavity for holding a standard steel strut. When mechanically fastening the strut into place, bolts or screws pass through the side of the head into the metal strut.  The new design features a flat surface, instead of the previous curved design, resulting in easier installation and a tighter fit between screw and head.

In areas where hurricanes or seismic activity are present, mechanical fastening is often required to secure installations.  A secure installation can be achieved without bolts or screws using GREEN LINK Adhesive/Sealant to bond to the metal channel as well as to the molded nylon surface of the KnuckleHead. With shear strength of up to 275 psi, GREEN LINK Adhesive/Sealant can replace mechanical fasteners making for easier installation, according to the company.
