The Reflective Insulation Manufacturers Association International (RIMA-I) selected Robert (Bob) Wadsworth of Innovative Energy in Lowell, Indiana, as its second Alexander Schwartz Award recipient.
RIMA International established the Alexander Schwartz Award in 2016 to honor individuals who made a significant contribution to the reflective products industry either through technical achievement, leadership, product development, and/or new technology. The award was set up to recognize those that motivated industry representatives and advanced the reflective products industry and/or RIMA International and, in turn, contributed to the overall acceptance of reflective products within the building codes and in the overall marketplace. The award is only presented when the organization deems that a valid candidate meets the outlined criteria and should be recognized for their significant contribution.
RIMA International’s selection of Wadsworth makes him only the second Alexander Schwartz Award recipient. Wadsworth has been engaged in the reflective insulation industry for over 35 years. He has been an active member of RIMA International, is a past president and has served on the board of directors and held every executive office position as well as chaired various committees and task groups over the years. He has conducted a number of seminars at different building industry conferences and trade shows; and he has most recently served as RIMA-I’s Industry Expert fielding online questions and taking phone calls to assist the association in providing reliable information, resources and technical support.
Wadsworth passed away January 20, 2019. Accepting the award on his behalf was his son-in-law Jonathon Hagarbome, who now runs Innovative Energy with his wife, Whitney. The presentation took place at the Fall RIMA International meetings held in Houston, Texas.
“It is an honor to recognize Mr. Wadsworth for all he has given to this industry and organization and for the friend he was to us all,” said Mary Edmondson, Executive Director, RIMA-I. “He will be greatly missed.”
