The Roofing Alliance, the foundation of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), announced its 2020 Construction Management Student Competition participating schools. Celebrating its sixth year, the competition had nine schools submit their intent to participate. Five finalist teams will be announced December 9, 2019 and will compete on February 5 at the 2020 International Roofing Expo (IRE) in Dallas, Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The schools who have indicated\ntheir intent to participate are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Roofing Alliance\nconstruction management student competition is designed to test the students on\ntheir roofing knowledge, project management capabilities and presentation\nskills. This year, the teams are tasked with submitting a qualified bid package\nfor a new roof system on the Ford Center, the indoor practice facility of the\nDallas Cowboys. The Ford Center is part of the Dallas Cowboys World\nHeadquarters in Frisco, Texas. The teams must research the project, review\nthe plans and specifications, and assemble a full estimate and proposal to\nsubmit a qualified bid package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The teams will submit their proposal packages by December 9,\n2019 to be reviewed by the team of judges. A maximum of five finalist teams\nwill be selected to travel to the International Roofing Expo in Dallas,\nwhere they will present their proposals as if they were presenting to the\ngeneral contractor for the project on Wednesday, February 5, 2020. Finalists\nwill be named on January 6, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
