2015 IRE Attendees and Exhibitors Can Plan Show Experience with Mobile App

Attendees and exhibitors of the 2015 International Roofing Expo (IRE) are able to efficiently devise their trade show plan and schedule using the new IRE mobile app, available now for iPhone, iPad, Android and BlackBerry users.

Sponsored by SRS Distribution, the mobile app is available free of charge. The IRE mobile app can be found by searching “IRE” in the Apple App Store or Google Play. BlackBerry and all other web browser-enabled phone users should point your mobile browser here.

The IRE mobile app offers a variety of features to help users plan for the event, including registration and hotel reservations. The mobile app also allows users to easily navigate the show floor while attending the IRE, access exhibitor lists and profiles, the interactive show floor plan and conference level floor plan, the conference schedule, session details, and speaker profiles. It also offers a personalized planner that can help attendees organize their IRE schedule – all in a matter of minutes.

“By downloading the free mobile app, you can quickly view the IRE floor plan, exhibitor details, educational sessions and more from any web-enabled mobile device,” said Tracy Garcia, CEM, Director of the IRE. “The easy-to-use interactive capabilities and real-time event communications will make your IRE experience more enjoyable than ever, so download as soon as you can.”

Users can also explore exciting New Orleans sights and dining options, as well as connect with other roofing professionals on social media by following conversations on the IRE Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages.

Users who have last year’s app already downloaded on their phones should receive a notification on your app store icon that an update is available. All users are reminded to sync when they open the app to ensure they have the most up-to-date information.

“Accessing critical show information while you’re on the go has never been easier,” said Bill Good, Executive Vice President of NRCA, the show’s official sponsor. “I encourage all of our members to download the IRE mobile app today.”

KEN SCHMIDT, former director of communications at Harley-Davidson Motor Co., will provide the keynote address for the International Roofing Expo, which will be held Feb. 24-26, 2015, at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

Held immediately prior to the opening of the show, the keynote address will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 9:45 to 10:50 a.m. in The Great Hall at the Morial Convention Center. The keynote is sponsored by Portland, Ore.-based Malarkey Roofing Products, which will exhibit in booth no. 1133.

During the address—“Make Some Noise: Open the Throttle and Dominate Your Marketplace”—Schmidt will share his expertise on brand building, corporate positioning and customer relations.

“Ken Schmidt played a pivotal role in the famous turnaround of Harley-Davidson from the brink of bankruptcy,” says Tracy Garcia, CEM, IRE’s director. “Our attendees and exhibitors will love hearing his inspirational and motivating presentation.”

Schmidt will share his insight about how businesses of any size and scope can, like Harley-Davidson, create meaningful differentiation from competitors; maintain veteran customer relationships while innovatively pursuing new ones; improve sales through customer referrals; attract and retain employees; and revitalize corporate culture.

Make Housing and Travel Reservations for the 2015 IRE

Attendees and exhibitors of the 2015 International Roofing Expo (IRE) can now make housing and travel reservations through the official hotel vendor, Travel Planners. Offering hotel, airline and car rental discounts through a variety of companies, Travel Planners offers the biggest savings and most valuable perks.

Taking place Feb. 24-26, 2015, at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, the show will offer roofing contractors of all sizes and specialties a comprehensive preview of the entire roofing construction and maintenance industry.

“We negotiated the lowest rates and amenities at a variety of hotels in proximity to the Convention Center,” said Tracy Garcia, CEM, IRE Show Director. “Attendees and exhibitors are encouraged to reserve their rooms early, as hotels sell out quickly and discounted rates are only available for a limited time.”

In addition to the specially negotiated rates, attendees and exhibitors who book their rooms through the official housing service will enjoy certain additional benefits:

    • Room rates are guaranteed to be the lowest rates
    • If any official show hotel lowers its rates, or lower rates are found, the rates for 2015 IRE automatically are lowered and new confirmations generated
    • No deposit is required at time of booking• Complimentary shuttle bus service is provided for guests between the official show hotels and Morial Convention Center, except those in walking distance.

The beautiful New Orleans Marriott will serve as the headquarter hotel and will host most NRCA meetings and events.

The hotels in the IRE block that are in walking distance include Embassy Suites New Orleans Convention Center, Hampton Inn and Suites Convention Center, Hilton Garden Inn Convention Center, Hilton New Orleans Riverside, Hyatt Place (formerly Hotel New Orleans), and Wyndham Riverfront New Orleans.

American, Delta, United, Air Canada and AlaskaAir will serve as official airlines, offering service from destinations nationwide to the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). Discounts are available off published airfares and based on availability, offering the most cost-efficient travel routes to the show.

To secure the best rates, show participants must book through our online reservation system. Reservations may be made online 24-hours a day, seven days a week, or by calling 800.221.3531 during the hours of 9:00 am – 7:00 pm ET, Monday through Friday.

“When booking their travel plans, show participants are ensured low rates and a high level of personal service from Travel Planners,” said Bill Good, Executive Vice President of NRCA, the show’s official sponsor. “Attendees and exhibitors should be aware that there are other travel providers that claim to work with IRE, but are really scammers who will take your money without getting you a real reservation.”

“This was our first year exhibiting at the IRE and it exceeded our expectations,” says Brett D. Steinberg, national sales manager, Kemper System America. “The foot traffic and the attendees were the right people we wanted to connect with.”

“The 2014 IRE was the busiest and most successful show in recent history,” adds Bill Good, executive vice president of the National Roofing Contractors Association, the show’s official sponsor, who had an 800-square-foot booth at the event. “The roofing industry continues on its path of economic recovery with a positive buzz in the air like hasn’t been felt in several years.”

The show’s opening day featured an inspirational Keynote Address by Frank Abagnale, subject of the blockbuster book and movie, “Catch Me if You Can,” to a standing-room only audience of more than 1,300. After recounting tales from his incredible youth as a master forger and imposter, Abagnale said becoming a father and husband is what really changed his life. While he now works with the FBI, he maintains that family is the driving force behind his success.

Kid Rock and GAF Support American Investment at Next Week’s International Roofing Expo

GAF has announced that it will be holding an event with special guest Kid Rock at the International Roofing Expo (IRE) held in Las Vegas, Feb. 26-28. Guests are invited to have their photo taken with Kid Rock and receive an autographed photo at the event to be held across from the GAF’s IRE booth at 4:30 pm on Feb. 26.

In August 2013 at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, GAF donated a motorcycle built by Orange County Choppers to war veteran Robert Dickey on stage at the Kid Rock concert. The collaboration led to the realization that GAF and Kid Rock share a mutual focus on creating jobs in America along with supporting and giving back to the military. One of the charities that Kid Rock strongly supports is Operation Finally Home, which provides custom-built, mortgage-free homes to America’s Heroes and their widows. Through their partnership, GAF will give back to this foundation by including Kid Rock in its summer contractor promotion. For each entry, GAF will make a donation to Operation Finally Home.

“Our relationship with Kid Rock has been a great experience, as we share some of the same ideals and understand the importance of investing in America and supporting our troops. GAF has an unparalleled level of investment in new roofing plants, and we actively working to bring new jobs and service on line at our upcoming facility at Cedar City, Utah,” explains Paul Bromfield, senior vice president of marketing and corporate development at GAF.
