The new L-Foot from AceClamp/PMC Industries makes installing solar racking systems easier than ever. Installers no longer have to contend with wide, L-shaped brackets that prevent complete access to mounting clamp fasteners.

The new L-Foot does not cover the top-mounted bolt on the AceClamp ML or impede access to the AceClamp A2 side bolt, making any adjustment or re-torquing quick and easy. The bracket’s shorter foot allows complete access to the clamp’s grounding cable channel, so the bracket doesn’t have to be removed to install the grounding wire.

The FM-Approved AceClamp ML is a standing seam metal roof (SSMR) clamp system that can accommodate almost any application or roof seam profile. It is UL 2703 compliant. Its two-piece design allows installation at any point on the seam with one of the tightest vibration tested grips in the industry. The single fastening screw is top-loaded, providing easy, quick access for the contractor, completing installation in less than half the time of conventional side-mounting systems.

The AceClamp A2 is one of the strongest clamps tested, compared with single set-screw clamps, in the SSMR market. It is UL 467 and 2703 compliant. Its unique design virtually eliminates the need for periodically re-torquing clamps. The A2’s innovative solution prevents torque back-out by employing a distinctive “push-pin” design that locks two stainless steel pins onto the roof panel to secure the clamp. The A2 also saves time and money where grounding cables are used, as the clamp is designed with a grounding cable groove incorporated into the clamp itself. The new U-Anchor 2600 attachments can be installed on a variety of asphalt roofs, including modified bitumen and BUR, providing solar project teams a means to attach in virtually every commercial rooftop condition. The U-Anchor 2600 is a lightweight rooftop attachment system consisting of a 5.5-inch weatherized plate with a 3/8 to 16 by 1 3/8-inches-tall stainless-steel stud. The assembly is attached to the roof using approved fasteners and without the need for additional flashing.

The A2 AceClamp’s unique design virtually eliminates the need for periodically re-torquing clamps to preserve manufacturers’ warranties, as is recommended for other SSMR clamp systems.

The A2’s innovative solution prevents torque back-out, caused by wind flutter or constant seismic vibration, by employing a distinctive “push-pin” design that locks two stainless steel pins into the roof panel to secure the clamp. The design effectively prevents loosening or torque back-out and is Patent-Applied-For.

Prior to the A2, manufacturers relied on round or concaved-headed set-screws that turned and rotated into the metal roof’s surface to penetrate and lock into the metal seam. This typically resulted in scratches or damage to the panels’ surface. The A2’s sliding push-pin design eliminates this concern. The A2 solution does not damage or scratch the panel surfaces, thus upholding manufacturers’ warranties while assuring one of the strongest clamp systems in the industry.
