GAF Peru Donates to Nonprofits to Support Community

The team at GAF’s Peru manufacturing facility recently provided donations to four local community organizations: Illinois Valley United Way, Second Story Teen Center of Princeton, IL, IV PADS Shelter, and Habitat for Humanity of LaSalle, Bureau and Putnam Counties. Through these partnerships with the local nonprofits, the facility is aiming to find opportunities to bring a positive impact to Peru and its residents.

GAF is proud to support the Peru area and its residents through GAF Community Matters, the company’s social impact initiative focused on making a positive difference as neighbors and partners in the community by leveraging its roofing expertise, resources, and products to help build resilient communities.

“GAF is dedicated to becoming a proud member of the Peru community,” said Gary Ashley, plant manager at the Peru facility. “We’re proud to support these amazing organizations that are already doing great work in Peru, and we look forward to working together to further uplift its residents.”

GAF Peru’s efforts to support local organizations follow the facility’s recent roofing materials donation to Wellness and Recovery with Maitri (WARM), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing individualized care for individuals struggling with addiction and mental health issues in Peru.

Since breaking ground in Peru in 2022, GAF has been committed to growing its local presence and contributing to the city’s strong community values. The company chose Peru because of its ideal location with excellent access to service the Midwest customers and the city’s strong community values with a talented workforce that brings a wealth of experience and innovative manufacturing capabilities. GAF is excited to grow its presence in Peru and are confident that the facility, which began production in May, will be an immense asset to the company’s future operations.
