OMG Inc. is proud to announce that the Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress has recognized OMG employee Douglas “Rocky” Woods as a 2018 MVP. Rocky was nominated for his performance in two categories: outstanding on-the-job performance and outstanding performance outside the workplace.
Regarding Rocky’s on-the-job performance, his most impressive accomplishment as an OMG employee is his 33-year safe driving record. Rocky was recognized by the National Safety Council (NSC) as the Northeast’s Regional Best Safe Driver of the Year in 2007, and he was one of only seven finalists for in 2008 for the UPS Joseph M. Kaplan Safe Driver of the Year award. Rocky has also been recognized as the company’s “Employee of the Month” for his willingness to go above and beyond and his positive attitude.
In addition to his performance at OMG, Rocky was also nominated for the MVP Award for his contributions outside of the workplace to the community. Rocky served our country in the United States Army, and recently became a Disaster Action volunteer with the American Red Cross. Following Hurricane Harvey, Rocky completed a two-week volunteer deployment in Houston and delivered supplies to California to support the Red Cross fire relief efforts.
“We are extremely proud of Rocky’s accomplishments both at work and in the community,” said Sarah Corrigan, vice president of human resources for OMG. “He serves as a great role model and this recognition is very well deserved. We are very happy to have Rocky as part of our team.”
