The Marathon Companies Names New Board Members

The Marathon Companies announced the expansion of its board of directors. The parent company of Marathon Roofing Products and MRP Supports added Jake Cislo, director of MRP Supports, and Amanda Fachko, manager of logistics and director of heath, wellness & safety for both Marathon & MRP, to its board after the president of The Marathon Companies, Tod Cislo, and his wife, Tina, secretary, determined it was time to expand their roles within the company. In their new roles, Jake and Amanda will help devise corporate strategies, ensure that the companies are aligned toward the same objectives and determine and vote on major expenditures.

“It is with great pride that Tina and I see our two children maturing and taking a leadership role in our businesses,” said Tod. “It is a journey but as some of our Marathon family say, ‘Teamwork makes the dream work.’ We feel these additions to our boards will secure things for many years to come.”

Jacob has been with the company for 16 years. He received a bachelor’s degree in business management from Kent State University and worked extensively in that region during his schooling to learn the industry. Amanda has been with the company since 2018. She received a master’s degree in community and school health from Canisius College and a bachelor’s degree in health promotion and education from Daemen University. Her expertise gained while working for a mental health services company has been a welcomed addition to the Marathon family.

This past April, the companies held their most recent board meeting. At the meeting, the Cislo children said, “It is our honor to accept these new positions and to plan for the future success of our Marathon family. This is just the beginning of something great and thank you for entrusting us with these duties.”

Tod Cislo, who has worked at the company since 1989, bought the business in 2006. “We have come miles from where we’ve started,” said the elder Cislo. “The business has been in a tremendous growth pattern. Even during COVID, we persevered, and our family helped us stay focused on our goal of continued growth in the Western New York market.”

In recent years, Marathon has expanded significantly. In 2020, the company added 10,000 square feet to its facility in Orchard Park, New York, to help support its continued growth.
