TPO Single-Ply Roofing Membrane Systems

InnoviTPO

IKO unveils its InnoviTPO Single-Ply Roofing Systems, which will be marketed throughout Canada and the eastern half of the United States. The Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) membrane systems are the newest commercial innovation from IKO and expand on the company’s low-slope roofing expertise that includes a long-standing built-up roofing (BUR), styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS), and atactic polypropylene (APP) presence in Canada and single-ply polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) systems in Europe.

“Designed for exceptional performance, InnoviTPO single-ply roofing membranes are the culmination of significant investment in breakthrough processing technologies and our proprietary weathering formulation known as MATRIX,” said Michael Mendoza, IKO’s North American director of single-ply roofing. “MATRIX exemplifies the combination of sophisticated manufacturing innovations that amplify the advanced chemistries of the product and is the bedrock of InnoviTPO.”

Offered in 100- or 200-foot rolls, the membranes are available in 45-, 60- and 80-mil thicknesses, with widths ranging from 5 to 12 feet. They are available in white, grey or tan. Suitable for use with mechanically attached, fully adhered or induction-welded roofing systems, IKO’s InnoviTPO is heat-welded at the seams to create a continuous, water-resistant roofing membrane for low-slope commercial roofs.

The white InnoviTPO membrane material is reflective, which helps reduce heat gain through the building envelope, reducing the amount of energy needed. White InnoviTPO membranes meet or exceed a number of industry performance standards, such as ENERGY STAR® and LEED®.

“IKO InnoviTPO Single-Ply Roofing Systems marks the next phase of our commercial roofing evolution and is synonymous with enhanced performance innovation in single-ply commercial systems,” added Mendoza.

InnoviTPO is manufactured at IKO’s new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hagerstown, Maryland, alongside the company’s thermally efficient IKOTherm® polyisocyanurate roof insulation. This will allow both the membrane and insulation to ship from the same plant, simplifying the logistics of ordering and receiving a complete commercial roofing system delivered to the job site. The Hagerstown facility is the newest of IKO’s manufacturing plants and was built with conservation in mind, minimizing waste.

IKO, which is marking its 71st year of supplying innovative products to the roofing industry in 2022, also offers a wide array of corresponding components and accessories designed to work with its leading-edge InnoviTPO roofing systems.
